The national partners in comprehensive cancer control within the U.S. have worked together for over six years to : 1) identify the needs of states, tribes and territories in developing, implementing and evaluating comprehensive cancer control plans, 2) identify what each national partner can contribute to the whole of CCC being greater than the sum of its parts, and 3) develop and implement the comprehensive cancer control leadership institutes, planning assistance teams, and leadership support teams to build capacity within states, tribes, and territories to plan, implement and evaluate comprehensive cancer control programs. This presentation will provide an overview and history of comprehensive cancer control in the U.S., highlighting briefly the role of key national partners, and key tools that have been and are being developed to facilitate the adoption of evidence-based approaches to comprehensive cancer control.
