Two prophylactic HPV vaccines are in final stages of testing and have been found to have high efficacy for prevention of cervical cancer precursors. One of these vaccines, directed against HPV types 6, 11,16, and 18, may be licensed for use in adolescents in the US in 2006. Pending FDA approval, this presentation will provide an overview of (proposed) recommendations for use in the US including target groups.This talk will also summarize cost-effectiveness studies of HPV vaccine, including those using cohort and dynamic models
