Methods:Cancer Patients Aid Association , a registered charitable non government organisation working towards the cause of cancer tied up with the government, to release, a first of its kind, Cancer Insurance Policy, a very economical policy which propogates cancer awareness, early detection and in addition supports treatment financially. *awareness lectures to general public are conducted about the disease and related issues like warning signs, lifestyles and ill effects of tobacco. *Mandatory Screening procedures for all enrolled. *Financial assistance for treatment via claim. *Continuous emotional counseling and guidance.
Results:The objective of "Total Management of Cancer Patients" has been achieved to a large extent in the last 11 years as per details given below: Total no of persons who have attended awareness lectures while propagating this policy - 65,000. Total no of persons who enrolled in this policy and are undergoing mandatory annual screening - 11,335. Total no of asymptomatic patients detected with cancer in the first screening itself- 37. Total no of patients detected with cancer during annual follow up- 25. Financial assistance for treatment claimed - US$ 65,000
