Methods: -The Renasterea Diagnostic Center particularly dedicated to women of limited means provides consultations, mammograms and ultrasound to detect breast cancer; -The Pink Line, 08008 300 300, Romania's first toll-free telephone service providing information on breast cancer; -The Medical Information Center for patients and their families providing information about the prevention, early detection of breast cancer and therapies; information leaflets about prevention and treatment and psychological support groups; Illumination Program (2001, 2002, 2003 and 2004), aiming to raise public awareness; -The Art for life events 2004, 2005- aiming to raise funds for the Foundation's programs; -Communications campaigns – media, outdoor
Results: Renasterea Social Diagnostic Centre - over 6.589 women have been examined, 5.551 mammographies performed and 500 patients sent for further investigations. The Medical Information Center - over 6.000 visitors, more than 1.222 patients received psychological support. Over 10.000 people accessed the free info line. Women understand the importance of early detection for the cure of disease.
