Colorectal Cancer: Detection and Treatment

Objective: Discuss strategies to reduce the incidence and death from colorectal caner Review current treatment options of colorectal cancer

Methods: Colorectal cancer continues to be a global health treat and is one of the leading causes of cancer deaths. The WHO reports cites 525,000 annual global deaths from coloractal cancer. The WHO projects that death from colorectal cancer will increase largely due to unhealthy diet. One third of all cancers can be cured by early detection and effective treatments. This clinical presentation will review the global incidence and mortality of colorectal cancer and highlight strategies for prevention, screening and early detection.

Results: Prevention and early detection of colorectal cancer can reduce morbidity and mortality from this cancer. This global silent menace will be silent no more. Review the education information for risk assessment, early detection, and treatment guidelines for colorectal cancer for cancer health professionals.
