Comparison Between Clinical and Pathohystological Diagnoses in Patients with Nonmalignant Breast Diseases

Objective: primary diagnoses benign breast diseases is indication for operation or follow up. Methods using for diagnoses are mammography, ultrasound, scintymammography and fine needle biopsy. Every method may present false positive or false negative results. Golden standard is open biopsy and frozen section.

Methods: The clinical study included 106 patients with primary diagnosis benign breast diseases-76 with fibroadenomas,2 with ginecomastia,2 with papillomas, 2 with posttraumatical fat necrosis and 24 with fibrocystic diseases, citologically proliferative changes. Seven from the patients (7,42%) with fibrocystic changes were with ductal invasive carcinoma under 6 mm after open biopsy and frozen section.

Results: The open biopsy with frozen section is unique method for diagnosis of patients with false positive or false negative results.
