Objective: to establish the evolution of smoking to the teachers staff from Romania; first investigation was in 1993 – 38,9% of the teachers smoked
Methods: 224 teachers from 6 high schools from Bucharest were involved.The age was between 25-60 yeas old.They filled an original questionnaire with 24 questions
Results: The prevalence of smoking is smaller after 10 years.The knowledge deficiencies about smoking still remains : the tobacco toxicity , the effects of passive smoking , the cessation methods. The educational activities among teachers are still necessary because they have the biggest influence on the young people.
