Objective: The audience will learn how to counter publicize the tobacco industry.

Methods: By going through daily newspapers, both English and Thai, to see if the tobacco industry publicize its involvement in any social worthiness programs/activities.

Results: Trans-national tobacco industry always find strategies to publicize/advertise the company logo, or brand name. Because of the surveillance, Thailand Health Promotion Institute organized a Thai-US youth demonstration against the tobacco industry. The success of this demonstration was the first time for negative advocacy against trans-national tobacco industry in Thailand. It is also the first time ever for the Thai-US youth cooperation in protesting against trans-national tobacco industry. The Thai prime minister did not attend the opening ceremony.
