Impact of Pan Masala Chewing in Developing Country like India

Objective: TO ASCERTAIN THE IMPACT OF TOBACCO /PAN MASALA IMPACT IN DEVELOPING SOCIETY

Methods: SURVEY OF THE SCHOOL TEACHERS CONSUMING TOBACCO

Results: five schools with more than 1000streght were selected and the school teachers of these schools were screened for oral health and tobacco and pan masala chewing habit.almost 30 % teachers were usin tobacco .25% of those using tobacco had early sub mucus fibrosis and 30% had some leukoplkik or melanoplakik changes.those not chewing had 2% incidence of leukolakia and no case of sub mucus fibrosis was seen. submucus fibrosis is almost always associated with pan masala or tobacco chewing and is a precurssor of malignancy
